About Brittany Brewer

Brittany is a compassionate educator, writer, and [theatre] artist committed to that which elevates the growth of young people via exploration/inquiry.

Currently, she is a doctoral student in Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education at Michigan State University where her research focuses on the intersections of literacy, collaborative learning, young adult narratives, and arts-based research. Before moving to Michigan, she worked as the Associate Director of Education and Program Services at Philadelphia Young Playwrights where, among other things, she facilitated over 250 workshops across schools in the Greater Philadelphia Area and assisted in the creation and facilitation of professional development workshops for PYP’s classroom teachers, teaching artists, and classroom actors.

Brittany is a graduate of Brown University (Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English Education), Indiana University Bloomington (Bachelors of Arts in Theatre & Drama, English, and Spanish with a minor in Telecommunications), and the Arden Professional Apprenticeship Program.  Outside of her education-based and theatrical aspirations, Brittany enjoys practicing yoga, performing long runs, playing musical instruments, pondering puns, alliteration, and, finally, reading with the company of her cat and a cuppa tea or joe.
